Terms of Water Cooling Tower

  • Cooling capacity: Cooling capacity is the measure of a cooling system's ability to remove heat. (KW, kcal/h)
  • Water flow: The amount of circulating water per hour in the tower. (m3/h)
  • Tower inlet temperature: Incoming water temperature from process to tower.(°C)
  • Tower outlet temperature: Temperature of water returning to the process from the tower.(°C)
  • Cooling range: Temperature differences between tower water inlet temperature anf tower outlet temperature. (°C)
  • Aproach to wet bulb: Temperature differences between tower outlet temperature and wetbulb temperature. If this value decreases, the selected tower dimension will be bigger.(°C)
  • Wet bulb temperature: Thermodynamic wet-bulb temperature: the temperature a volume of air would have if cooled adiabatically to saturation at constant pressure by evaporation of water into it, all latent heat being supplied by the volume of air.(°C)
  • Dry bulb temperature: Dry bulb temperature is the temperature that is usually thought of as air temperature, and it is the true thermodynamic temperature. (°C)
  • Relative humidity: Amount of water vapor in a mixture of air and water vapor
